Pamela Willis, JD, RN, CPHRM
Senior Patient Safety Risk Manager,
The Doctors Company

Pamela Willis earned her nursing degree from the University of Hawaii. She completed her law degree at California Western School of Law in San Diego. Prior to joining The Doctors Company 12 years ago, she worked as the case intake specialist in a medical malpractice litigation firm.

As a background to her legal and risk management careers, Ms. Willis had 14 years of experience as a bedside labor and delivery nurse. She experienced varying practice regimens in hospitals throughout the country while serving as a travel nurse in five states and holding nursing leadership roles in local area hospitals.

Jesse Ehrenfeld, MD
President, American Medical Association

Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, MD, MPH, became president of the American Medical Association in June 2023. He holds senior roles at the Medical College of Wisconsin and serves as a consultant to the World Health Organization. His research, funded by prestigious organizations like NIH and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focuses on leveraging information technology to enhance surgical safety and patient outcomes. Dr. Ehrenfeld is a prolific author and editor, with over 275 peer-reviewed publications and 22 clinical textbooks. Notably, he is the first openly gay president in AMA history and a longstanding advocate for LGBTQ+ rights as well as a combat veteran. Dr. Ehrenfeld was honored for his advocacy with awards from the White House News Photographers Association and an Emmy nomination. He and his husband have two children.

Steven L. Simon, PhD
Biosketch

Steven L. Simon, a radiation physicist for over 45 years, earned his degrees from the University of Texas and Colorado State University. He began his career as a medical physicist and contributed to clinical trials on solid tumor treatments. Specializing in environmental radioactivity and dose assessment, he led radiation monitoring programs globally. At the National Cancer Institute, he focused on radiation dose reconstruction for cancer epidemiology studies. Dr. Simon led assessments on nuclear fallout exposures and received the Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award in 2021. He provided expertise during the Fukushima crisis and collaborated internationally on radiation health research. Currently residing in Santa Fe, NM, he continues research while pursuing music performance as a jazz guitarist.

Julia L. Lothrop, M.S.
Acting Regional Director & Executive Officer,
Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs

Julia Lothrop is the Acting Regional Director and Executive Officer at the Office of IEA for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Region VI Office, overseeing initiatives in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and 68 Federally recognized tribes. Previously, she served as Special Assistant to the Consortium Administrator for Survey & Certification and Quality Improvement at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), contributing to national adult immunization efforts, Medicare Part D enrollment, rural initiatives, and public affairs. Beginning her federal career as an Intergovernmental Affairs Specialist, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Science in Gerontology from Baylor University. With experience as Director for the Southwest Society on Aging and Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, she led educational initiatives and served as Principal Investigator on a National Institutes of Health grant focused on Alzheimer’s Disease research. A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Ms. Lothrop resides with her husband and grown children.
